It's probably Pelvic Organ Prolapse (POP).

It's common and it's treatable.

Vaginal Bulge

Pelvic Organ Prolapse (POP) occurs when the ligaments supporting the uterus and cervix weaken, and the uterus drops down into the vagina.

What is POP?

Common Symptoms

  •  If the uterus drops only slightly, it may cause mild pressure in the vagina.

  • More advanced uterine prolapse can lead to the cervix bulging outside of the vagina and becoming visible.

Don't Wait for Treatment

POP symptoms may start with a sensation of pressure or ‘dropping’ in the vagina or pelvis, progressing to “something coming out” of the vagina.  Unfortunately, it’s often not until reaching this advanced stage of prolapse that many women finally acknowledge they have a problem and seek advice.

Is there a treatment for Vaginal Bulge caused by POP?

Yes, Altyx™ will soon have a minimally invasive treatment for POP utilizing a mesh-free medical device.

POP surgery has undergone huge advances over the past several decades, and today, most surgical solutions are minimally invasive, often performed on an outpatient basis.  Surgeries can be performed with laparoscopic, robotic and vaginal techniques, and surgical recommendations are individualized depending on each patient’s type and degree of prolapse.  Altyx™ is dedicated to making a solution accessible and amplifying the voices of women affected by POP.

Meaning “leave it alone” if you’re not feeling ready for treatment or if the prolapse isn’t impacting your quality of life.

Pressary
Pessaries are rubber/silicone devices, inserted into the vagina, and shaped to prevent the prolapse from bulging downward.
